Downtown Hot Springs Recovery Status
Parts of downtown Hot Springs are still recovering from flood damage by Hurricane Helene. Be mindful when parking and when walking in work zones.
Things to Know When Visiting Hot Springs
Parking
Street parking is still available on side streets, however no parking is allowed on Bridge Street (aka Highway 25/70). The Public Parking Lot is available and is still dirt/gravel. Parts of it may be closed for paving later this year. Please do not park on private property and where posted.
Sidewalks
Sidewalks along Bridge Street have been fixed and are safe for walking!
Bridge Construction: Hot Springs is getting a new bridge!
A new bridge is being built over the French Broad River! The project is moving along steadily.
On weekdays only, the current bridge is reduced to one lane with a traffic light at both ends. Travel delays are possible on weekdays.
On weekends, traffic flows feely with both lanes open over the bridge.
Boaters may still access the river at the NOC parking lot and paddle their craft under the old bridge along a channel. There may be temporary closures in the future as the project progresses.
