Candle Making Workshop at Woodson Branch Nature School
Join us in honoring the summer solstice—the sun’s peak moment in the sky—with a hands-on candle-making experience. In this warm, community-centered workshop, you’ll learn to make hand-dipped taper candles using pure, locally sourced beeswax.
Candlelight offers a gentle invitation to slow down, marking the turning of the seasons and helping our bodies transition into restful rhythms. You’ll create your own set of 8” tapers and a beautifully twisted spiral double candle, perfect for welcoming the lengthening nights with intention and grace.
Along the way, we’ll explore the fascinating world of bees, and reflect on the power of ritual and seasonal celebration.
This workshop is led by Jessamy Ames—lifelong artist, former beekeeper, and founder of North Star Candle Co.—who brings deep reverence and knowledge to this special solstice gathering.
